He does not care what kind of legacy he leaves behind. He doesn't care about black or white Americans, only about making us equally poor. He is a mistake and I regret that I had any confidence in his character or intentions.Larry McGarrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12937789735427160368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-9251046833918562612009-08-05T16:08:31.600-04:002009-08-05T16:08:31.600-04:00Thanks Wes,
I have read Wayne's "So You ...Thanks Wes,

I have read Wayne's "So You Don't Want To Go To Church Anymore" and "He Loves Me" and "In My Father's Vinyard" - all helped me see God in a new light. Both Wayne and Paul have filled in the blanks left by Church teachings concerning the holiness of God versus the love of God.

I believe that anyone who struggles with a 'God who allows evil' would benefit from reading The Shack, or any of Wayne's books.

I've also discovered that if you don't stay in the truths revealed in these books that it's easy to fall back into the trap of trying to please God out of fear of His wrath. Many Christians would settle for less than God wants for them because they're not sure He really does want a personal relationship with them.Larry McGarrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12937789735427160368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-30426163368497104502009-08-03T18:46:07.237-04:002009-08-03T18:46:07.237-04:00Hey, I came across your blog a couple months ago w...Hey, I came across your blog a couple months ago when I was looking for some stuff on self-discipline being a work of the flesh, and this post caught my attention. I have been going through a series of messages titled 'Transitions' by Wayne Jacobsen, and remembered this post. From what you've said here, it sounds like you might be on the same journey he talks about.
Anyways, just wondered if you had heard of Jacobsen. I think you would like what he has to say.

I saw that you read the Shack. Wayne actually is one of the two guys who started Windblown Media, and is a close friend of Paul Young.
Wayne also wrote a book titled 'so you don't want to go to church anymore' that I just finished reading. You might enjoy that as well. I would highly recommend it.
If you haven't already heard it, the Transition series is free to download, and can be found here: http://www.lifestream.org/transition.phpWesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-49342238921934832532009-04-08T13:54:00.000-04:002009-04-08T13:54:00.000-04:00You are so right. He did approach the Port Authority to warn them of the liklihood of such an attack. And he trained the employees how to evacuate the building when it did happen.

9/11 is more than just the date that America was attacked by terrorists. It's not when it happened, it's that it happened just as predicted. One doesn't need to be psychic to see the signs and to take precautions. I think we're definitely seeing signs of the demise of our Republic. Let's just hope there are some Rick Rescorla's out there who can tell us how to escape the direction our nation seems hell-bent towards. Much has changed, not necessarily for the better.

I also know what it's like when politically correct snobs become indignant when I speak my own opinions on my own blog. I'm a self-professed bigot, not a racist. And I don't hide behind Anonymous, what you see is what you get with me.

Bill Clinton was the first black President according to many blacks with whom I know and work. They respect him because he cheated on his wife and set a low standard for personal responsibility, much like many black men. Don't believe me? Ask Tyler Perry, Bill Cosby or ask black women who are single parents to children of multiple black men.

I don't like Obama, didn't vote for him, but I will pray for him and for our Congress and Senate. Most racists would pray against him, just like they prayed against McCain.Larry McGarrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12937789735427160368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-88187877932350746412008-11-04T02:43:00.000-05:002008-11-04T02:43:00.000-05:00WOW!!!! The sad thing is that this country has not progressed enough since Martin Luther King that race is an issue. You are stereotyping the whole black race.

AND think for a nano second - Obama is white too. The fact that he has Black ancestory makes him Black only? No one mentions the taboo subject of BIRACIAL. Why do we need to discuss someones race when we decribe them?

I would bet money that if your new wife was anything but white, the relationship would not have gone any further after you found out. Racial issues may be a good topic of conversation for the two of you on a quiet evening. Most prejudges are so ingrained that we do not realize it until we stop and reflect on the subject. Please do so.

Like you say he will have to give an account to God on how he leads the country, but you will also have to give an account of your subtle, yet distructive, opinions about people because of their race.

No I am not Black, but I am in a family that is multiracial. Although I am not Black, I am experienced with negative racial attitudes.

The more blogs I read by people that profess to be religious, the more I pull away from organized religion. I will keep my spirituality and stay away from people that use religion to back up their opinions and do not open their eyes and minds.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-57599910402210101442008-10-18T13:29:00.000-04:002008-10-18T13:29:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-14391361231542652872008-10-17T15:03:00.000-04:002008-10-17T15:03:00.000-04:00Wonderful overviewThank'sArdyanto YudiwibowoWonderful overview
Thank's

Ardyanto YudiwibowoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5175251184529317987.post-18844721861092775312008-09-15T16:04:00.000-04:002008-09-15T16:04:00.000-04:00For those who think this is just a story - the pre...For those who think this is just a story - the preacher is real. Religion gets everything backwards. We think we can please God with our obedience, but we feel guilty when we disobey. We wake up every morning wondering whether we're facing the God of the Old Testament or the God Jesus told us about in the New Testament. Religion teaches us to pray for our needs; relationship teaches us to pray that God will be glorified in our needs. Religion enslaves us to a genocidal and angry God; relationship reveals that God's wrath is directed not at the sinner but at what sin has done to those He loves.
